The ancient town of Qibao (Seven Treasures), China, is now swallowed up in Shanghai's urban development, but parts of the Qibao area still retain an old world charm.
In a back street the Qibao Catholic Church (Qibao TianzhuJiaolang) is to be found, with a working convent alongside. The church, originally known as the "Church of the Assumption of Mary", was first built in 1869, but the present structure dates from 1896, with the last changes made in 1929.
