Church of Our Lady Before Tyn - Prague CZ

The Gothic Týn Church - also known as the 'Church of Madonna before Týn' (Kostel Panny Marie pred Týnem), or sometimes also called by the wrong name 'Church of Our Lady before Týn' - in Prague was built in 1365, a tumultuous period when Hussites were being slaughtered by the ruling Roman Catholics. It replaced an earlier Romanesque church. During the Hussite wars the church was occupied by Hussites. When Catholic Jesuits took it over they recasted the bell and replaced the Hussites symbolic chalice with a large figure of Mary nailed between the towers.
The interior of the church gives an impression of perfect balance. The vertical lines of the Gothic stand in harmony with decoration originating in all later styles. A beautiful entrance portal decorated with scenes of Christ's passion and a huge Rococo altar on the northern wall are the basilica's most striking features. The oldest pipe organ, built in 1673, in Prague stands inside Týn church. The organ has a grand sound and occasionally it is a concert venue.
The Church of Our Lady before Týn (Týnský chrám) is without doubt the most important ecclesiastical building on the right bank of the river Vltava. Its two spires (built at different times) are not symmetrical. This is characteristic of the gothic architecture of the time and is a representation of the masculine and feminine side of the world.
Looking at Praha's Church of Our Lady Before Tyn is like looking at a fairytale castle. I’m sure it inspired Disneyland designers.

Quarai ruins at Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument

The red-walled Quarai Mission Church along with Abo and Gran Quivara, form the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument in New Mexico.
Quarai once was a thriving pueblo. The Tiwa-speaking Indians who migrated through mountain canyon trails from the area of present-day Albuquerque before AD 1300 farmed, gathered salt at the nearby saline lakes, and took advantage of their location between the Rio Grande pueblos and the Plains Indians to become traders.
The beginning of the end of the Salinas pueblos' Indians can probably be traced to Spain's conquest of New Mexico, specifically 1598 when Governor Don Juan de Onate had the Indians sign an 'Act of Obedience and Vassalage' to the Spanish Crown.
Around 1675 the American Indians fled to El Paso, and later they moved to Isleta del Sur on the Rio Grande.

Pepsi is here - Pepsi Cola Ad in Prague CZ

Pepsi has always been known for creating creative advertisements. Being one of the most competitive carbonated beverage makers, these folks sure know how to market all variants (Pepsi Diet, Pepsi Twist, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Blue, Pepsi Jazz, etc) under the umbrella. Pepsi ads inspire; they are cool, daring and creative.
When you walk Jindriska street from Jidriska vez (Henry tower) to Vaclavske namesti (Wenceslas square) in Prague you can see a big Pepsi wall mural. Although it is fading it is not a ghost sign from the former communist area. It's 'only' retro style. Before 1989 it was unthinkable to advertise an U.S. product in then communist Czechoslovakia, so there can't be a ghost sign about Pepsi from this aera.
I so love the elegance of the lady, her style, her clothes ... looks like something from the 1950's ... beautiful.
