Painting with Light

With light painting you have the opportunity to create a unique or unusual lighting; or varying degrees ... With light painting you have the opportunity to create a unique or unusual lighting; or varying degrees of light and dark in the same image by how long you lay the light on each area.

The term "Painting with light" is confusing:
The generally accepted meaning as used by interior photographers,is use multiple flashes to equate indoor light with daylight from windows-to have your camera on a tripod, shutter on time exposure(locked open) and you walk around the room firing a hand-held flashgun(strobe) to get an even lighting, determined by flash meter.
The other type of lighting is akin to picasso drawing the outline of a bull with a flashlight,in the dark - the highlighting of specific objects (flowers, a building, a tree, etc.) with a beam (or multiple beams) of light.

Just go to Daveblackphotography.com. Thats what it looks like. It's been done for 125 years at least. Quite simple and quite effective actually. It looks interesting and produces gorgeous photos.
